I'm not sure what all to say about myself, I live in Ann Arbor, Michigan (USA) and work as a graphic designer/computer technician for a print shop. I have a BS in Historic Preservation, but wasn't willing to go on for a Master's Degree, nor was I interested in teaching, so I found another career. I discovered Bryce way back when version 1 came out, but I didn't really get serious about the program, or 3D art in general, until a few years ago. When I'm not in front of the computer, I'm either making costumes or wearing them to a renaissance festival, or building a new rock-sculpture, or possibly wandering with a camera.
When I'm not making something, odds are I'm reading from my far too wide range of interests: Astronomy, Cosmology, Physics, Archeology, Anthropology, History, Current Events, NASA (of course) and anything else that happens to catch my attention. It's really hard to find enough time to do all of the things I want to be doing! What drew me to Renderosity is the many excellent artists who continue to inspire me to push myself as an artist. More recently I've added a selection of stuff to another online gallery location:http://nefariousdro.deviantart.com/Â

The marvel of textures is how they appear everywhere: words have textures when you write, digital thingies have textures, depending on what you want to render, tweak, manipulate, dodge, burn, or diffract. It takes quite an astute mind to recognize textures in everything from music to digital art as well in more expected places such as in traditional-media art forms. And yeah, I love the various textures in this: the condensing cloud, the planet, its moon...everything in this image. And I love the predominance of grays and silvery tones. There's a distinct mood to this and it's quite brilliant. THIS is a place I'd love to explore.

Very beautiful image. with your definitions of textures, I imagine myself, sweeping my hand (very large) through the mists and dusts with this nebula and feel it tickle my fingertips and then watch everything swirl around, settling down into a new formation and thus a new song of the spheres

Great picture! And yeah, how we create things (pictures, sounds, music, objects and others), even how we are with other people reflects how we see and understand the world around us, and how we want to interact with and how we would modify it.

A wonderful space scene, and some profound thoughts on the creative process. There are some great textures here.
