Description
Marne liked it when Morgan came to visit. She loved Conor with all her heart, but he could be a bit stuffy and stubborn sometimes. With Morgan around, Conor was a lot more animated and laughed more. There was very little that phased Morgan. For Morgan mac Fionn, if you put your mind to it, it could be done.
They all got up and Marne made them all some tea, scrambled eggs and warmed some bread. The bread was slathered in melted butter and apple butter. As they sat around the table while the sun rose, Conor had to ask: "Did ye think of anything, Morgan?"
Morgan cast Marne a glance and a smile as he sat down his mug and looked Conor straight in the eye. "I did! Tell me lad, was there anyone in the lot thet stayed with ye I knew?
"Aye...the mac Donough brothers."
"Matt an' Jamie? Och! Shame. Wonder if their parents got word."
"I doubt it, since I'm the only one left an' I ain't goin' nowheres til I get this settled."
"A'right then, lad. You an' I are goin' inta town as Matt an' Jamie - rather worse fer the wear...."
"We donnae look a thing like Matt an' Jamie. How we gonna do that!?"
Morgan's lips puckered and he rolled his eyes at Marne. "I see ya aint been readin' them books I gie ye, lad."
"What books?"
"Them magic books, Conor."
"I aint no mage. I'm a warrior. I ken what I need ta be a warrior!" The stubborness was peeking out now.
"There's warriors, an' there's battle-mages. Yer the first an' I be the latter. When yer sword fails - an' sometimes it will - magic is a back up. Glamourin' Conor. We're gonna glamour them ta think we's Matt an' Jamie."
"I donnae ken 'ow ta do thet stoof!"
"Fear not! I shall glamor 'em fer the both of us. Now, tell me...tell me exactly what led up ta the battle, when they left, an' what happened arter. Can ye do that, lad? Ye remember?"
"Aye, I remember...all too well."

I can almost hear the bagpipes of home, reading this :) That breakfast DOES sound very appetising! Warm bread slathered in butter... drool! Well, I must say that I didn't expect Morgan to be a spellcaster! Sounds like there's a scheme forming here. Can't wait to see what Morgan has in mind... I do have a fondness for the battlemage. Love the idea of blasting spells and then, when the enemy goes "Right! He's cast his lot, GET HIM!" the battlemage just smiles and draws steel!

Well this is very cool! I love the subtlety in the relationship. But you had me torn between commenting and ordering a late breakfast! LOL. I love breakfast food, but I just can't eat it early in the morning. Usually I eat breakfast for supper. LOL. Hey? You want to hear something crazy? I got a dozen of eggs once that all double yokes, alright? Just regular jumbo eggs. They were so delicious. And I swear that my hair grew about two inches that week. LOL. It was so bizarre and cool! Maybe they were experimental or something. :) Your morph looks very beautiful too! Gorgeous portrait!
