Description

Dear friends, I am back and.... It seems it is not such a good idea to work at a whole series. I had lost the red line sometimes ago and I was not able to get in contact with it again. But now it happened! This here is Dresden at night one more time. This point of view here is called "Canaletto View", and the frame symbolise the wall of an ancient painter. Canaletto was born in 1722 in Venice, and his right name was BERNARDO BELLOTTO. Bellotto was a very famous painter of vedutes and cityshapes of the Baroque times between ca. 1740 and 1780. He worked in Dresden, Vienna, Warshaw and Turin. Here in Dresden he worked for King August The Strong which created the Bruehl Terrace and other famous Baroque buildings for his main capital. Bellotto did many paintings from Saxony, especially Dresden and its famous terrace. One of this finest work were painted directly from this point here. Pic was taken in April 2010. Hope, you enjoy it! Bye, billcody
