Description
It's a lonely job at Point Nemo; the guy guarding the light will be happy to see visitors.
I promised Cybertenko to have his light house meet a gentler fate than in my previous pic; so here goes....
Made in DAZ using just Point Nemo, Poser Ocean and Uvdan's streetlights a wallpaper pic and a load of Photoshop too.
I added 11 separate light sources to the scene:
- 4 on the deck
- 3 on the sides
- 2 on the lower deck
- 1 in the crane house
- 1 Uberlight
Credit to UVDAN for his streetlights
The big light from the tower was a prop and repainted in PS..all other lights painted too.
What follows was done in DAZ Studio..no idea if it works that way in Poser.
Aiming the lights right was a bit of a hassle till I decided to use little balls. Works like this:
- Set up a light fixture like a lantern pole
- Make a new spotlight and hang it in on/ in the fixture then parent it to the fixture; that way you can move the thing without losing the spotlight
- Load a primitive form like a small ball or a cube and place it on the surface you want to, generally, aim your light at and place the fixture near the spot
- Set the spotlight to point at the ball, now you can always just move the ball to aim your light and DO parent the ball to the structure..otherwise when you move the structure to another place you will see some balls hanging in the wind and your lights go haywire:)
- When everything is set, make the balls invisible DON"T REMOVE THEM.(you may try but I'll guarantee you a headache:)
There is a little problem when you are about to load more than 6 lights because preview won't show you more than 6; any other light will stay dark in preview BUT show up in render. Best way to work that is make sure you have your first 6 in order, make a note of the LIGHT INTENSITY of each and set them to zero. Once the number of set lights drops below 6 your new lights will be visible in preview. Just don't forget to set the light intensity of the first ones back to the noted intensities before you render.

Just a little bit more close....no more need for coffee but for life vests :) Glad that you got one more unit of this excellent lighthouse left to do another post, my friend! :) Excellent render! -cheers-

for me, I've avoided learning DAZ other than arranging and exporting objects into Octane - which I'll swear by... but I understand that a formal Daz plugin for octane is being worked on, and when that happens, then I'll have to get deeper into the studio program.
