I have been told that the Smithsonian has one like this on display
this one was not working and got taken to a recycle

Wow now that's something ya don't see anymore...or at least around here. I remember just after I got my divorce in 2001, going to Sears to get my first Magnavox TV. I was so darn proud of myself...since then though, due to technology all the televisions and monitors for our PCs have been replaces with the snazzy Flatscreen, HD and all that lol Great memory Richard!

I used to have the same model TV many many years ago. LOL You still on rare occassion see a sign advertising a motel with big letters, "Color TV" :) That is a sure sign that they have not upgraded thier sign in a long time.

Lol - In 1975 I had a smaller b/w one, just 25x35cm, the new one is a lot bigger: 42' Inches!

Before remotes I used to say to my sons....Back in the day we actually had to "get up" and "walk" across the room to change the channels...lol...Not to mention having to climb an Arial to shift the antenna to capture the UHF channels...lol!.. I have a friend that takes old TV's like the one your showing and guts out all the insides including the screen and puts a flat screen in the slot where the old tube went..He actually makes a decent living retrofitting them... ~smiles~

LOL. Was a similar device in the GDR to buy about 1990. Was my 1st Monitor for the C64.

Yep the old days...lol. I remember all the times of going outside in the blasting snow storms to turn the antenna and only having two or three channels to pick from... some progress is good.

RP: HELLO! ... Brings back MEMORIES to this OLD geezer! ... My late 'pop' had a Black & White ADMIRAL .... '3' UHF stations at the time ONLY .... Had to GET UP off your BEHIND to CHANGE the channels AND they ALL went OFF AIR just after MIDNIGHT ....T.P.
