Description

MB3D Thank you for stopping for a closer look. Any and all comments are welcome and appreciated. After watching the American presediential debate last night, I have to admit I am very glad I'm not an American and having to vote in that election. The whole political system is a sad state of affairs. It gets put into perspective when you realize that even the low level players in the NHL (who are currently on strike) make more money than the president of the USA. He has the responsibility of most of the world on his shoulders, while the other guys play a game. All pro-sports has become a serious source of disappointment. Basketball, football, hockey and baseball have all in the past few years proved that greed is the only reason they are involved. In north america we have literally millions of people homeless and starving. While at the same time hockey players are on strike because they are only making 4 or 5 million dollars this season. If each city that has a NHL team were to disband their team, and use those billions they could build housing, feed people, improve the schools. Now if they also got rid of the idiots playing basketball, football and baseball they would wipe out of thier national debt. Amature sports could take over the need for the fans, and you would have folks actually playing because they enjoy what they are doing, not just to earn millions. Sorry for the rant, but after watching the debate last evening, its clear there is no good choice for people to vote for. Maybe if the president's position paid at least as much as a starting quarterback makes, a higher grade of candidate would come forward. America is in a sad state of affairs... Our election choices are bad or worse... not good or bad. This image looks like a collision course, like our politics.

Reminds me of "Jacks" I used to play when I was younger but only bigger....lol.. As for politics...I try and keep my opinions to my self as I find discussing such things a slippery slope and tends to get me ranting and off topic when it comes to art. Though I agree our state of affairs in this country are in dire straits and needs a miracle at this point...My wife and I being both 50 didn't like the comments of "if your 60 or over" you need not listen any farther and if your 54/55 you need to listen...What does that say to me and my wife that have been working since we both were 16 and have paid taxes for nearly our entire adult lives and now wonder what if anything will be there when we retire somewhere in our 70's.Each candidate is all about themselves and care more about the people that make donations to there candidacy then those that have built this nation...It's like....Thanks for making us super rich now go away you lower than thou and be gone. For me and my wife we will survive but I don't see much of a future for my 3 sons and that scares the Hell out of us. What disgusts me is hearing how much they raise to run for office (hundreds of millions)but can't seem to fix the budget and when they don't win they and all the money they raised is simply a "write off" and they go about there lives like oh well.In all the years my wife and I have worked and if combining our income together we have never been higher than 75,000 a year.I laugh at the thought that they believe middle class is those that make 200,000 a year or more...I guess that means folks like me that don't even crack the 40,000 a year mark and have busted my ass for 30 plus years and now am disabled(collecting no benefits to date)that I'm being cast aside because at someones desk job in Washington that makes that 200,000 thinks I'm just a statistic that doesn't warrant their time. And you wonder why folks in this nation go postal every now and then.... I see no one running that I will waste my vote on...Sure wish they would not have used there money and shut out the only one that had a vision and that was Ron Paul but since he's considered too old and had really great ideas that they didn't want him running because those that be thought he'd be a threat to their agenda. Sad in deed when the only one that had a way to get through this was not given the media attention he deserved IMO. Just like American Idol....You that believe your vote actually matters and counts towards the outcome are being fooled.They....(the ones that donate millions)will put the one in office that will help them become even more wealthy and our votes are meaningless because we never counted to begin with. Okay Jim...I'm done.....

Cool MB work man, super job. I don't believe how much the President gets paid even enteres into the decision of anyone who runs for the position, compensation many times the base salary comes from merely attaining the position. All to often the American Presidential Election is simply choosing The Devil You Know over the one you Don't. They can Debate the Economy till they are both blue in the face and my choice will not change, Romney will make the Rich richer and the poor poorer, simple as that. Maybe the Debate on Foreign Policy will sway some but as far as I'm concerned a Republican President means one thing, another Boots on the Ground Shooting War, this time with Iran, we can not allow this Lunacy continue. Peace

This is a wonderful image Jim, you really did great. I very much enjoyed your rant And share several of your beliefs as well as having many of my own. I used to be a huge sports fan for most of my life until the money involved got so extreme I felt they were out of touch

Beautiful work on this image and fractals Jim! :) It is absurd how those who make obscene amounts of money to play a game feel they deserve more.

I tend to agree about sports but also if the players do not make the money while their body holds out, then they will be a broken person physically and money wise. if they do not get it, then the owners rake in more millions and millions of profit. for the short expectancy of pro sports they deserve all they can get---but I personally do not care about pro sports. gymnastics is something I enjoy and diving very cool composition on your post Jim

great image Talking politics: I think too much effort has gone into team play. In games it's okay to be my team against your team but why would that work better than cooperation in real life. If my memory doesn't fail me, there was a time when our two party system was touted as being a good thing. I think that's no longer the case and I'd like to see it done away with. Maybe one primary to vote for candidates then an election to chose. Maybe deciding on issues based on what seems best for all would work better than no basis for ones decision other than my team overall.

I like your stars, the background and that big ball, Jim. I also thank you for speaking out your thoughts about that politic thing and that costly sports system. You are so right on both. Sometimes this 'sport' seems a religion, to live for (the fans do). A powerful money world, where people can do their aggression. I do not know how it is in America, but here in Europe, the hooligans often do acts of extreme violence. Which again is costly in relation to the need of the many police officers. Not to mention all the destruction. Your stars here are greater then those football-stars ;-)
