Description

Last week at our local beach. The tide was out farther than is usual, and we enjoyed exploring on our own while Mandy was getting her hair cut. :) (It was a spur-of-the-moment visit ... this was taken with my iPhone.) The pilings are all that remains of a boat rental outfit that was active about 75 years ago. Hopefully the black and white mood conveys what the place might have looked like in its heyday. All that dark stuff on the beach is seaweed. We've seen a lot of it up and down the coast this year. ZOOM is better on this one.

Nice shot. Looks so much like a photo from the American Civil War era.

This almost has the look and feel of ancient Greek ruins with those pilings. A very cool shot, Tara! It's interesting to see a landscape usually covered by water.

I wonder why you have had this very low tide. Your capture really does make this scene look as if it was taken many years ago. Excellent.

My first thought was vintage postcard. Voices from the past born on the breeze.

That is quite a low tide, isn't that called a neap tide? Seems like I've heard that somewhere. Excellent capture, and I could easily imagine this being taken decades ago. Well done!

I felt the antique nature right away with no hint from you. So it works for me.

I like the mood you created Tara by making b&w. Looks like it was from the industrial times before WWII, when pollution was a sign of success and wealth. Come to think of it, it was about 75 years ago!
