Description

My model ATSF M190 is capable of running in sun, rain, or snow. Ice will stop it. To see a video of the "Old Pellican" go to: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LTgyF1prjU8 The model was hand built, to copy the original, which ran in KS, MO, OK, TX, NM, AZ, and CA from 1931 to 1968. The one-of-a-kind articulated locomotive/baggage doodlebug was serviced in Wichita, KS. Fitted with a 900hp engine, she could put up to 15 freight or passenger cars, but was designed to routinely pull 2-5 Pullman passenger cars on short runs. The original is in storrage in NM, awaiting restoration. The model as shown is 4" wide, 6" tall, and 5ft long and took three months to build. It is radio controled, battery powered, and has a sound system even including "All Aboard." The radiator shells on the roof started life as 3-AAA Radio Shack battery holders. The roof was made by heating plexiglas until it was soft and molding it over a shaped 2x4. Lighting is protytipical, with LEDs.

Jim, This is by far one of the most impressive model trains I've ever seen. It is highly detailed and a true work of art. The Love and care you put into building this is obvious and really paid off. This is easily one of the most detailed trains I've ever had the pleasure of viewing, right down to the conductor inside. Thanks also for providing the behind-the-scenes description of the train and what it can do

Awesome Jim! Well worth the time to see, as I got a better idea of its size! Bigger that I originally thought!

The ground and snow are real. I am running the train outdoors in winter. Other trains I have can run a snowplow when the tracks are covered. If you go to the link I gave above for a youtube video for this train, there are others there that demonstrate snowplowing. JC

I miss the model train set I had. I loved that thing...it was nothing special to anyone but me and when things got tough my train needed repairs that noboey seemed to be able to fix...so it sits in the boxes and cases in my closet to this day. Excellent shot of your train.
