I had a treat this week, in the form of a preview version of Bagginsbill's BBGlossy2 material set, that he was kind enough to send me, so he could garner some feedback on it. It is amazing... and I've mostly been playing with that all week... and no doubt will continue to do so until BBGlossy3. He he. This render started out as an experiment to see how versatile the BBGlossy2 shaders can be. BB has included a range of BBGlossy mt5s that have an empty image_map node. I've used this here to integrate various degrees of the gloss finish to both the Stonemason Utopia Deck C set and also the Xurge3D HAAS armour for Tyler. Swidhelm's Alien was also given the BBGlossy2 treatment. In fact all material zones aside from the skin, Envsphere, Cat Robot hands and some ambient lights have it applied. The Frills and Lace set for Miki4 is textured using some of the diffuse color based BBGlossy mt5s; mostly Metallic Gloss Ocean Blue and White. The Cat Robot has been given a Metallic Gloss Flame Orange finish. All rendered in Poser Pro 2012 with IDL, a single Infinite light to represent the sun and three low intensity point lights where the ceiling lights are. Only postwork was the use of image autotone in Photoshop. The scene itself was greatly inspired by SamTherapy's render, "Bug Hunt" from his gallery here... which I was having a browse through again earlier this week.
