Description

This was just a testrender because I just had bought these birch trees and I wanted to see how they look in my canyon. For me I must say, not bad :). What do you think? click for larger image unfortunatelly I had to reduce the quallity a bit for the upload :( lights used for this image only one distant light with raytraced shadow and 1% shadow softness. Some image informations: Large pine trees (standing and fallen) by: Andrey Pestryakov (Daz) Silver birch trees by: Predatron (Daz). You get 4 different trees, each with leaves for summer or autumn and without leaves for winter. those with leaves have 4 single leave maps each hideable, so you have a lot of possibilities. full leaves or less or more less or none. Groundfloor: Some different grounds by Flink (Renderosity) Canyonwall: Backround by Predatron (Daz) from Rocks`n`Drops that I have scaled up to 250% and d-formed with some d-formers to get a canyon/mountain wall. I also have used a rock-texture from this set that I have fixed for all rocks and stones. Originally the backwall was made for a sky backround so I have misused it :). Rocks and stones: From different sets I have in my content with the the fixed texture (originally by pedatron) Had to fix it so it fits to the backround also as to the rocks and stones. the little pond (you can`t see here) is also a waterplane from Flink :)

Only thing I could add(even though this is a test render) is when creating anything "wooded" that the more ground cover...(I.E)...sticks/grass/rocks and alike helps compliment any forest or wooded area to help balance the scene. Some say less is more but sometimes more is required to help the scene along...Of course if you add mist/fog or darker shadows/light then that helps with the ground covering as well...I'm sure down the road with more attempts you'll find your balance that your comfortable with...(smiles)..
