While Doc's crew may seem a rather violent bunch, you must understand, dear readers that there has been a civil war in the land and society isn't quite as 'civilized' in this future world as it is these days. There are still some better parts of the larger cities, as well as the bad ones but those in the shady side of town don't always honor the invisible borders. These are hard and desperate times and many of those who live in the cities both above and below ground are hard and desperate people. There are still good honest citizens as well. What lies outside the cities in the old suburbs and countrysides is a devil's dice-game. You never know what you'll come up with, when you roll out. Part of the crew's purpose - their own agenda, truth be told - is to protect the good honest citizens in whatever city they might find themselves. This is what Jed and Cherry were already doing in what's left of Motor City. To that end, anything goes that is necessary to do so. Frank is the last member of "Doctor Feelgood's Cheap Thrills & Arcane Oddities" show that you've not yet met. At least that's what it was called in the last city they were in. A rude or obnoxious customer really doesn't want Frank standing over them looking down, cracking his knuckles, if they should be so unfortunate as to get 'pinched' by the Doctor and dragged, chased or prodded out of the theatre/club by Daniella...especially if they said something really bad to one of the girls. Frank doesn't talk much, and he hardly ever says anything while he's beating the crap out of someone. He figures they should know why they're getting the crap beaten out of them, as Daniella is pretty good about letting them know before she hands you over to Frank. That is of course, unless she has to 'plunk her magic twanger' on the unfortunate soul and/or zap them with her cattle-prod - or knock them out herself. Frank doesn't do his job until the person is conscious or sober. Frank's never killed any of the rude, obnoxious customers. He knows when to stop. He doesn't break bones or noses - nothing that would put them in the hospital ER. They would however be reminded for a week or two of their encounter with him. Frank was schooled in the Muay Thai style of 'open-handed fighting', as well as Shaolin Wushu styles, including Five Animals, Wing Chun and Yong Chun. He began his training when he was ten years old in a dojo in his hometown. He had a particularly well developed aptitude for it, which was recognized by his instructors. He's the one in the group who comes to the fore when weapons can't be used. Frank's more than just the 'muscle'. He's a mechanic in the usual sense or the word, and their communications expert. He's very good at breaking and creating codes, and a bit of a hacker as well. Okay, he's more than a bit of a hacker. Like the others, he served in the War in Black Bart's unit. That's all I'm going to say about Frank for now. You'll have to wait until another time to find out more about him.
