Description

I once asked the Commander why he preferred to have me on the deep patrols. He told me that I just had a knack for drawing out trouble. Huh. He may be right.

Good use of motion blur gives a very dynamic feel - very cool image!

Excellent render, is all the motion blur on the little ship and weapons all postwork?

Hi, @Xerxes0002 I use a combination of rendered effects and postwork. I render multiple times to get a combination of the complete image without blur and separate image elements with blur. If I feel that the rendered motion blur isn't right I can also then motion blur each element in post (some things I'll not bother animating anyway, knowing that I can control them better in post). Carrara Pro also helps too by providing individual layers like glow, occlusion and post effects which can be used to enhance the image. (The weapons fire is actually a simple rounded tube with a glowing shader and a tube light so that I can get some pretty realistic effects from them, then I always light where I know I'm going to put explosions) If you look back through all of my StarWars images I think you can see as I evolve my technique.
