I always love this stuff. I feel a connection with the hands that made it all that time ago.

I love looking at this too. The wonderful craftmanship before the days of mass production is amazing and that some of these trades are still carried out by enthusiasts. Perfect shot Jeff.

This is incredible craftsmanship. Really nice closeup of the work here Jeff! You don't see work like this anymore in modern buildings. It's a shame.

when I was in the Philippines, I met the husband of a lady I knew from here.I seen many of the furniture that he had built from scratch in friend's homes. being some what of a carpenter myself, I could appreciate the beauty and detailed wood working. when I went to their home he showed me his shop, a hand made table saw. then I was very impressed by his talents. I use to have a friend that had a Hispanic business. he had employed a Cuban to do some work around the store. the Cuban had explained to me what he was doing. I asked him how he was going to get the moldings needed to rebuild a picture window frame. he pointed at some crooked 2x4 wood studs, and he actually with one old chisel and a hand saw cut and chiseled the moldings needed. later the friend told me that he was working dirt cheap, and so proud of it this is some very artful wood working. thanks for sharing it
