Description

These wooden canoes laden with fruits and and multi-colored merchandise are paddled by Thai women wearing indigo-hued clothes and wide-brimmed straw hats. They operate throughout the extensive canal system of Bangkok. On these canals, known as 'khlongs', merchants often congregate and then are referred to as 'Floating Markets. My boat driver slowed down to allow this woman on Khlong Bang Kruay in Thonbury to come along our boat so she could try to sell me something.
