My name is Tara, and I was born and raised in Washington State.
Â
In 2010 I married Bill (bmac62) and retired ... two of the best choices I ever made! :)
Â
In March, 2013, we sold our home in Washington and went on the road in our RV full time. What a blast! There is so much world out there to see!
After traveling around the West for a few years, we got rid of the motorhome and are now spending winters in deep-south Texas and summers in Washington State. Spring and fall finds us visiting whichever place strikes our fancy at the time!

Lovely shot, beautiful light. I love also to eat them. Enjoy! Brava.

Nothing better than a pile of sprouts, at least they generate enough wing to fly a kite!! A good idea for a shot.

I acquired the taste late in life! Hetty, (remember my toy poodle), also loved them which was a nuisance as she slept rather close to my face. I love the pic.

Beautiful deep green color and wonderful lighting. You reminded me that you must be careful when microwaving sprouts once they are already cooked. I once had a nice plate of pork chops, rice pilaf and some brussels sprouts ready for dinner when I was interrupted by a phone call. When I got back to my plate everything was cold so I popped it in the microwave and set it for two minutes on high. While in the refrigerator to get my beer I heard a faint 'popping' sound. After two minutes I opened the microwave to find my sprouts had exploded, one by one, like little bombs. Of course, once I had cleaned the microwave everything was cold again.

I used to hate them, but I've since been converted... especially how you suggest serving them! Looks like it was worth the delay in dinner to me :)

I'm very fond of brussels sprouts, Tara. But those on your photo are greatly THE BEST!!!

superb greens, the colour, not neccesarily the sprouts, i'm afraid i'm a victim of the era when greens were cooked to oblivion, and i'm only just getting back into sprouts, i do find i enjoy them when cooked as you describe, or pan fried with garlic and bacon.

Super color on the leaves and contrast. Very nice shot Tara.

Sprouts aren't the highest on my menu, but the way you prepared them is the best way. Excellent photo.

I love Brussels sprouts. They're just loaded with vitamins, minerals and good stuff like that. A crucifer in the same family as cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli, turnips and radishes.

Give me any veggies - I love'm all! another way of dressing them up, when served with crispy Pancetta(Prosciutto) 'bitz' - YUM! or just simply with a salad dressing ... don't they look just like little boats bopping around on a stormy ocean? BB

That is how I love my sprouts too. The look so yummy in this beautiful image.
