Description

In all the excitement of getting camp setup (as it were) I first forgot my hunting license/tag. so we turned around (John was driving his truck) and I got it. When we got to a spot that he had hunted before, we got out and proceeded to get ready for a walk. Only...I forgot the ammo (back at base camp) BUT, I had my cameras and so Kay took off in a direction that she wanted and I went with John to learn from him and to get photos. This is the road (6701) that we followed for several miles. it was very quiet and John and I talked in hushed tones as he taught me some wood/hunting skills. after a certain point, I bid farewell and good luck to John and went back along the road towards the truck. It is amazing and wonderful -- when you are by yourself in these woods, other than the sounds of the occassional bird, it is extremely and beautifully quiet. I found myself becoming more calm and relaxed as I walked along. Thank you for the comments and faves I greatly appreciate them all Mike

I know one thing for sure. If I ever walked off this path I would leave a trail of bread crumbs behind me. LOL. Or maybe something the birds wouldn't eat instead. :) Absolutely beautiful country!

Agree totally with Nuisum. Sounds like fate, or your inner being, was making sure you weren't gonna get anything I would say.

License, ammo, I'm thinking there was something inside you that really didn't want to shoot anything but your camera. This is a wonderful image. It really draws you in.

They say the oversights are usually caused by the unconscious, to avoid unpleasant situations! You really wanted to shoot a buck? Or the child who saw "Bambi" and who lives within you was stopping you?

Nice shot Mike! I long ago decided my shooting would forever be with a camera. I have not regretted the decision, but I also understand those that do hunt.

Judging by the tracks you were not the only people to go that way no wonder the buck hid!!

It is addicting to enjoy nature. Maybe it was meant to be with just your camera and not the ammo...for today that is. Aloha
