Hi Folks! It's that time of year again, when I publish a series of 3D cartoon illustrations that shed a Jack o' Lantern's light on the yuletide classic, The Twelve Days of Christmas. This year's countdown theme is from the story that by now is well known: an ancient Mayan calendar that has been accurately keeping time for thousands of years will inexplicably run out of dates some time around the Winter Solstice in 2012. Here is scenario #13:

The Fire Next Time

The 2012 series begins where the 2011 series ended: behind a chain link fence. Although the title phrase is best known as the title of a James Baldwin book, its older history refers to an old gospel tune. One verse speculates that the divine covenant made to Noah ensured the world would never again be destroyed by water, so the next judgment will have a more incendiary approach. Forget about Y2K: this worldwide catastrophe is projected to fry more than our hard drives.
