Description
In the higher mountain regions of Shendar where the thick sulfurous fumes of the lava rivers in the canyons below are less prevalent and the temperatures are more moderate we find dense Jungles with a large variety of species.
This image shows a fully grown Yrdar and three larva in a Sir tree, one of their favorite host trees.
Yrdar are parasitic carnivorous plants, which are able to detach their roots from their host tree to fly. They prefer to lay their seeds into the wood of living trees. But if another living being is more convenient they are also known to use those as hosts for their young, often causing lethal infections. After a few days the larva break through the bark or skin, feeding off of their hosts body fluids until they are able to catch insects and other small flying creatures with their long tongues. Once they are developed enough to detach their roots they join their swarm in the hunt.

I like this one, very cool and sinister. I don't think I'd want a swarm of those chasing after me, that's for sure!
