Description
Thank you for so many wonderful comments with Jo and the alligator. Yes, she loves to share her knowledge especially with children. We passed a cotton field on the drive south. Either North or South Carolina. Early morning and no workers in the fields so we pulled over for a closer look. This is raw cotten and zoom works for detail on the left.

I've never seen the real thing though we do have a few plants that look like they could be used for the same purpose but with much lower yields. I notice too that there is obviously nothing easy about picking cotton...looks like a recipe for punctured fingers, arms, and legs! Nice photos Dana!

According to the song there should be a Boll weevil in there somewhere, Great shot and as Andrea says not likely to see these so I'll have to settle for cotton grass.

How lovely and fluffy it looks in zoom but I wouldn't like to pick it as there doesn't seem to be rows to go down and I hear that it is very prickly to pick. I'm glad you have made it safely back to Florida.
