Description

Here is my son "Trad" . All of the lava rocks around him are hot except the rocks beneath him. The heat is very intense in there and if you are not wearing protection, you need to step back or get out after a few seconds. The air is hot, so hold your breath and keep that camera steady. The way out is towards me. Alternate escape route (emergency only) is anything that’s grey, not moving and towards the cooler area. Lava will harden fast and its hard to break. There is lava beneath the rocks before me as you can see a glow in the video. Again I have fast forward the video as the ooze here moves very slow as you will see.... Clic on "Trad" . Aloha and thank you for viewing

@junge1...No problems with air quality. Only at the areas where the forest is burning, lava enters the ocean or the vents where lava first comes out that you need to watch out. Air at the areas we are taking pictures are hot...like an oven. If the wind changes, then it could blow all the volcanic vog in our direction....then that could be hazardous to the health. . See http://hvo.wr.usgs.gov/so2/havoalert.php .. Thanks for asking. Aloha
