Description
An ancient Mayan calendar that has been accurately keeping time for thousands of years will inexplicably run out of dates some time around the Winter Solstice in 2012. How will the world end?
Here is scenario #11:

Rise of the Machines
Books and videos are replete with story themes about cybernetic organisms (cyborgs) determined to prove they are better equipped to run the world than humans. Of course, cold logic cannot replace human emotions like love: Data reflects on that constantly as he works aboard the starship Enterprise. But it won’t matter. That same cold logic tells the machines they will win in the end. But here’s something else to scare you. The first generation of servant robots will be available to the public within a year or two. Version 3.0 will probably be a soldier. But version 2.0 will probably be a sex slave.
