These are general instructions on how to give some effects of drawings to Poser scenes using PhotoShop. This supposes a working knowledge of Poser and PhotoShop. If you don't understand parts, you can try joining a Yahoo group for one or both of these and ask questions there. This uses a saved scene I did earlier. http://www.renderosity.com/mod/gallery/index.php?image_id=2130949&user_id=3601&np&np 1. (Top Far Left) In Poser--Set up your scene. Render. (A large render gives more detail.) Save scene. Save Render. 2. (Top Middle) In Poser Material Room--Make everything White by Removing ALL textures and making Diffuse Color = white, Specular Color = black. This will make everything white with no reflections. Keep all transmaps as is. Render. Here it is yellowish because some of the lights were yellow. 3. (Top Far Right) In PhotoShop(I used PhotoShopElements8)--There are several ways to make the image black & white. 'Remove Color' is the quickest. 'Convert to Black & White' gives several choices of contrast. There are others. 4. (Bottom Far Left) In PhotoShop(I used PhotoShopElements8)-- Use 'Glowing Edges' filter (under Filters=>Stylize) You can adjust 'Edge Width', 'Edge Brightness' and 'Smoothness' to give you your desired look. I use Low value 'Edge Width', Medium 'Edge Brightness' and High 'Smoothness' This will give a white on black image. Invert-(Ctrl+I) to get black on white. To get a mostly lines look increase contrast (Brightness/Contrast). If the lines are weak, Duplicate Image & set the top one on "Multiply". You can duplicate that one to make it stronger. This gives a line drawing, possibly with some shading, but large shadows are missing. If you want to add the large shadows, continue. 5. (Bottom Middle) In Poser -- Go to "Render Settings" Click on 'Sketch Render' tab. Click 'Sketch Designer' You can 'Load Preset' with one of the supplied presets or some that can be purchased. or play around with the controls until you get something you want. (The Poser Reference Manual will give an idea of how they work) Here I have chosen settings that give dark shadows, but very little detail. 6. (Bottom Far Right) In PhotoShop(I used PhotoShopElements8)--Put the line drawing(4) over the shadows (5). Set line drawing(4) to 'Multiply' so both images show together.
