Description

Back in the 80s and 90s I was seriously into portraits... always looking for a pretty face or rugged hero to have a go at. Up until today I didn't have any of my original drawings. A few days ago my friend Phil told me he had some of my drawings and would I like them back? I said yes, not remembering why he had them, and today they duly arrived. There were 4 of them... three I liked, one which was unfinished and not that great. My friends here on Rendo don't know I used to draw rather than use a mouse for my artwork, so I present a portrait from the 90s, Japanese songster Hiroko Kasahara. I hope you like this little peek into my past... and I might post another one later. Thanks for looking. Iain

Goood stuff Iain, a lot of us began by drawing, I still dabble from time to time...

Always good to see that people are able to do more a single style or trick and show their diversity. And yes it takes decades rather than years, but it's the journey that makes it worthwhile.

Marvelous Iain, a true artistic 'bent'....I found some cartoons I did in work back in the 90's, bowling related 'in gags' that mean little unless you've worked in bowling but they made me smile.....they also made me realise why I'm a better renderer than artist :-) This is really very well done and seeing more would be interesting.....

This is very good Iain, i'd like to see more too. I was also very good at drawn art in my school days but sadly I haven't done any for years as rendering now taken over.

Thanks everyone... I look at this and the others that were returned and I seriously wonder if I can pick up a pencil and actually do this kind of work again. All I can do is try ^_^
