Description

"Needing A Little Help From The Samaritans" A woman and child begging for money along a roadway in South Africa. To many of these beggars are very legitimate in needing our help while some others have been known to get picked up at the end of the work day in very luxury cars. Let me stress that this image could have been taken in any number of countries around the world. Image taken through the car's windscreen with a Canon Xsi Rebel.

Sad commentary on a world where less matters more. The United States is one of those countries. If everyone would give a little and quit gripping about the abusers as an excuse to not help, we would perhaps see a world less on the verge of ugly times a'comin.

It seems that every corner is staked out now with someone begging for money or work or food or all of them...I know that many of them are NOT legit, but how can you tell which ones are truly needy? So sad that the world has come to this.

Same thing in Turkey, where many of the beggars are actually fairly well suported by the Govt and begging just suppliments a pretty reasonable state income.

Its hurts so much to see this. :( Their are 115 homeless kids in our city school system. :( I hope this mom and child get some much needed help. :) Most excellent capture. :) Thank you for sharing. :))

She looks to have chosen a very precarious place for a child. A very topical capture and a sad part of our world.

Being unable to separate the legitimate from the abusers, I tell them to go to the Salvation Army various centers because that is where I donate. I've been tempted to expose one fraudster who I have seen collecting money, then going straight to the beer parlour.

Whether they really need help or not, it always touches my heart strings when I see them - especially when they have a child with them.
