View High Resolution It was the same kitchen she had eaten her dinner in with her parents, earlier that evening, before going to bed. So Dorothy Cowan told herself. But something was different. Maybe it was the big red metal monster in the middle of the room that, she now remembered, she had just beaten at chess. Maybe it was the empty cupboards. Where had all the food gone? Why was Blue Ted suddenly so quiet and still. Now the monster was muttering in its crackly, screechy, scary voice. Something about horsemen and something called an a-pok-a-lips? Bloody hell! There are so many good things to say about this image I hardly know where to begin. I like the period feel to the kitchen, in particular. The bike in the next room is a great touch, too, as are the hat and mask on the wall. A reference to "Twin Peaks"? Anyhow, all things considered, this is a cracking image. My only crit - you knew there'd be one - is the little girl's skin, which looks a bit waxy to me. Anyhow, 4.75, which rounds up to 5. :)
