Japanese Garden 100 years behind the dunes, The Hague, Holland Infect located in an inclination between two very old sand dune barriers, ( = Clingendael) The attributes like the bridges, Buda’s & lanterns are from Japan and bought by the baroness (she was at that time the owner of the estate Clingendael) in the late 1800, early 1900!! Well over 100 years old now a days!! Despite the fact that the estate (with park) Clingendael is locate in Wassenaar on the border with The Hague, it is owned by The Hague. In the park you find the very delicate Japanese garden which is founded around 1910, 6 weeks a year the Japanese garden is open in springtime for the public since the mid 1950-ties and very recently also 2 weeks in the autumn. This Japanese Garden is very unique and a treasure of the Hague and the entrance is free of charge (LOL) Since the opening for the public I have visited the garden very often as we did on the 22th of October 2012 again in order to taste the autumn atmosphere in the garden (unfortunately it was crowded with people, but that is from another point of view positive as well !!!), our previous visit was on the 15th of May 2012, you can find postings of this springtime visit around that date in my gallery as well. It is always a pleasure to be around this area where I spent my childhood! This time only a few photo's taken, too many people around!!
