Description

For all those who were born in October, I dedicate this image, taken yesterday, on my last trip on my shortcut, to all of you. I say that this is my last trip as the rains here have caused the rivers to rise to an extent that my route through WRG (Washougal River Greenway) is now flooded out for the season. This is nothing though, in comparaison to what is happening on the East coast. So while we celebrate these birthdays, I ask everyone to keep those on the East Coast in your thoughts and prayers. Thanks for all the comments and faves. Mike ps. depending on how my co-worker does with the shots in the back, I may be posting only photos for a long time as I may be covering for her until she recovers. so I ask your thoughts and prayers for Carol Thank you

Absolutely beautiful reflections in this Mike. Sad it's flooded but this is the usual for you in this area...and it always looks so pretty during and next year. The images coming through from Sandy are devastating. Some places look like a bomb hit. Definitely praying that this ends sooner than later and people are safe. Oh dear, shots in the back do not sound like fun at all. Hope she does alright.

It's like this here in NYC. My neighborhood may have gotten off easy, but some of my friends were flooded. Thanks for sharing, Mike. Excellent shot, pal!

The river, she rises ... We fared ok here in southern NH. W lost our power at about 4PM Monday night but it was only out for 3 or 4 hours. We could see the tree on the power lines just over the hill from our house. Cool shot Mike.

Although its terrible what has happened out in the East and in so many parts of the world, your image is a perfect tribute to keep this in mind and in our prayers. A really beautiful and serene image nevertheless. Water can be so beautiful and calming, but at the same time so very dangerous.

It's gorgeous, Mike; and if it didn't do this for the season it wouldn't be such a lovely ride for you the rest of the time, eh? Prayers for your coworker...

LOL Hadcancer. This is beautiful, Mike. Very peaceful unlike the news. My cousin Eric survived 9-11 and now, even though he lives a few blocks from Long Island Sound, has come through hurricane Sandy with no damge or flooding. I've got to find out how he does it. I hope it goes well for your friend Carol.

Although I live in Memphis now, and this shot reminds me of our swamps, until five years ago I lived on the EC, so I've definitely had family and friends in my thoughts.
