Description
I first posted this in 2005 after watching reporters standing in the wind and trying to make it sound like they were as heroic as first responders like firefighters, EMT workers and the Coast Guard. Usually, each network sends a couple of camera crews to Florida, or the Gulf Coast. This time, with Hurricane Sandy being near New York City, every reporter got a rainsuit and boots and they all stood out in the wind, telling us it was windy.

Did you know that three of the top five news organisations took advantage of Frogdot Industries new Simulated Environment Media Center during the recent hurricane disasters? Their ratings were just as high as any of their competitors and none of their reporters were ever at serious risk of losing their lives, or being without doughnuts and coffee.
We here at Frogdot Industries have two goals. To make things better for mankind and to make a fast buck in the process. Our full-service one-stop center can simulate any weather condition and geographic location with the use of expensive props and convincing photo backdrops. Why should war correspondents go all the way to Iraq, when they can stand in a simulated dust storm with live ammunition flying over their heads, right here in our studios?
We will even supply authentic looking actors, dressed in local garb to answer all those stupid repetitious questions that journalists ask. For an extra fee, they will cry on que and sound really sincere. In our now famous hurricane stage, we have experienced stagehands that will toss debris behind you while you stand in water up to your knees. We can even fake those impromptu falls, or hilarious bloopers/accidents that viewers love to watch, all with the guidance of professional stuntworkers.
Starting at a bargain $600 per hour, why would you want to travel with a news crew in a smelly van, to Florida, then to Texas, then Mississippi and Louisiana and back to Florida again, just for a live shot of a hurricane? We can also simulate earthquakes, volcanoes, wildfires, floods and nearly any other known disaster that your viewers may want to enjoy. All in one central luxurious complex.
All kidding aside, my best wishes to all who live in the storm area.
