there are several name for these fungus,wood ears,black fungus,jude ears,ox ears, are the most common used.they can be purchase in chinese grocery in a dry form under black fungus , they have a neutral taste and are crunchy .it is a base in hot and spicy soup,i use them like dill pickles,it pick up flavor kickly. a very nice macro photo of this great mushroom,good find
