This is for Randy, who early this week wrote and asked if I might illustrate one of his poems. Intrigued, I had a look at this beautiful poem and found these words: "My problem is I don't have a good picture to put this with. I hope you like it anyway."
I instantly had a vision of how I would do it and wrote him back saying yes, I would do it for him, if I could find the right dress and lace. Thanks to Prae and ParrotDolphin that was quickly resolved.
I had a very clear vision of the lady and within a few hours had her done up in poser. Then I thought, wait, this is Randy's lady I had better ask him what his vision of her was. He replied, long dark hair and gray blue eyes. Wow, just like I had seen her - that was so cool. I was very glad he did not say a short haired blonde like Mily Cyrus or Pink!

When I close my eyes
There you are
Dressed from head to toe
In white lace and pearls
Your beauty stops my pulse
I lower my eyes
Tilt my head
Extend my hand
A beggar asking a lady
For a dance
You take my hand
Lift my chin
And look into my eyes
Unashamed to be seen with me
You are elegant in every way
I try to steal a soft kiss
And you disappear into the night

What a wonderful picture. I think you've completely taken Randy's taste (yes even before smile ) The smoke and fog indicates the volatility of the dream ... So he should not kneel humbly, but use the opportunity and see his dream woman deeply and firmly in the eye. Respect, Roxy

Such a lovely tight scene! I love the way you keep all details connected in very small surroundings. The colours are gorgeous too and I agree with what was said about her expression... you have that covered to the MAX! The nature of a poem being that it has a ' thousand faces' you most certainly found an absolutely beautiful one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Beautifully illustrated. She is quite fair. I like the old culture the props suggest and the mist is especially well done and dynamic. You did great justice to the words. The characters are perfectly posed and the light and render are excellent. So what's up with the observant rat in so many of your images? Just curious :)
