Description

A city block -*- When I was a kid, we used to stack up wooden blocks and make fantastic cities, we'd use sand for the landscaping, and dired weeds for trees. Now that I'm all grown up, I stack up bryce blocks, to make fantastic cities, use pictures for landscapes and dried up bryce trees. The more things change, the more they stay the same. haha :-) -*- Switched off the sun. All light comes from radial lights in the scene. The brick texture is now mapped on lattice objects with 1024x1024 G2H map including fenestration. Windowboxes, handrails and all added as bryce primitives. Then, just grouplicate, duplicate and stack.

Spectacular scene, wonderful ligthting! I hope I don't offend you by telling that my immediate associations went to the Hitchcock-movie "Rear Window" (James Stewart, Grace Kelly a.o.) - it's meant as a great compliment. Nice of you to "chunk down the process" - it suddenly becomes realistic to make similar things. Very, very good job! Lars

Since I am still a novice I would not be able to tell you how to impove your image. I can only say that you must have some wonderful memories. It reminds me of the neighborhood I grew up in where everyone was your family from one end of the block to the other.

Great image. It even looks a little other-worldly, despite its basic building blocks. The only thing that's missing is a few people, maybe?

It doesn't happen very often that I say "Holy Shit" when opening an image, but this is one of those occassions. Superb in every respect, well done.

It's occured to me that Poser figures are a little bit like like action figures that I played with as a kid. Like you said: "The more things change, the more they stay the same."
