I enjoy creating artwork in Poser, Photoshop CC, Vue, and DAZ Studio. I also have a passion for photography, and have been actively shooting for many years. I've been using Poser since Version 8, and am also learning my way around DAZ Studio. I've been using Adobe Photoshop since version 4. I also use Vue 10. I frequently use my photos as backgrounds, and composite my 3D figures into them.
I have been creating my web comic / graphic novel "The Girls From T.N.A." since fall of 2009, and have been a member of Renderosity since August 2009. I've made a lot of wonderful friends here, and have been inspired every time I visit!
I will soon have a more complete biography, as I am updating everything. In the meantime, have a look around my gallery!
Thanks!
Rod

wonderful to see art work long ago.

I wonder how hey painted it way up there? Standing on each others shoulders? Rolling a big rock over? And why up there? Why not where they could reach comfortably? Did they have vandals even then? Or was the author documenting taboo or illegal history, having to keep it where most would not notice? No matter how many more questions discoveries like this make, it is always a job finding them. (And you're almost in my neck of the woods ... Memphis TN)

Amazing..Now image the dinasaurs that also roamed the area..

This is fascinating! I doubt if digital art will last because it is too easily deleted.

Great shots!...

@ Adiana, The celing was actually low enough to easily reach - I could have touched the pictograms easily, but the oils in your skin damages them - so I didn't :-) I'm hoping to make it to Tennesee one of these days - would love to hang out in Memphis for a few days - check out Elvis's place, maybe..

This is way cool Rod :) There are many rock-shelters like this across the world with wonderful examples of ancient art. It's nice to see some from the US as well. I get the impression the second on down is a frog. The did quite often paint their works on ceilings and in out of the way places. I don't know if you've ever heard of Chauvet Cave in France - which is way older than these. There is a marvelous 'tour' through the galleries of the cave here, if you're interested: http://bradshawfoundation.com/chauvet/ Lots of other rock art here too. Sadly, Sherrie's probably right. Thanks for sharing with us!

AWESOME! I LOVE this kind of stuff Rod! Very COOL! Like you, when I see these things I can't help but wonder what the people and time was like back then. My fellow toolmaker where I work visited the west this past summer and brought back similar rock art done by the Anasazi Indians. They painted some really weird looking creatures. Some look like aliens from another world. Don't know if it was the drugs or what, LOL. Cool images buddy! Thanks for sharing.

Nice photos! I agree that seeing ancient pictograms like this does strike a chord in us in ways that are usually difficult to understand at the time. I think alot of it is because we tend to think of ancient peoples as somehow disconnected from us, but seeing art like this is so accessible and even though it's often rather abstract it always makes people feel like it's almost something they themselves have made. When I first saw an ancient pictogram on Lake Superior's coast the feeling of kinship with their creators was palpable amongst all of us who were there. Lovely series of photos, I can't wait to see the rest!

This is terrific... it always amazes me to see this kind of thing.. gets the mind working trying to connect with what must have been going on in their lives at that time.

On the other side of the river at my house are train tracks and a train goes by the house my times a day. The box cars are usually covered with graffiti and I can not make out what it any of it means either. Just goes to show you not all that much has changed. There is something tremendous about standing in the presence of such ancient sites. Kind of reminds you of how brief your own existence is compared to the epochs that have passed... For some reason, I was half expecting to see a faded TNA girl scribbled on there! LOL!
adrie
A fantastic photoshot Rod, also thanks for the great info.

♥ COOL COLLAGE & STORY DEAR ROD!
vyktohria
hehehe...Gee! I wonder who that archaeologist could be?? LOL! You know, and it's the exact same thing for me. Although I haven't seen any rock art up close, even with just pictures of them, I get the same feelings! Who were these people, what were their daily lives like? But most importantly that they EXISTED and had messages they were trying to tell us...GORGEOUS shots!!
mikeerson
Dude... these were drawn by people known as the stoners... look at that bottom picture - it's a joint - lol
