ok I installed poser onto the new laptop which of course has windows 8.... I have it running under windows vista sp 2... because windows 8...crashed it.. oh yes poser pro 2012. new computer..hp ..500 gig hd, 6 gigs ram, windows 8 pro 64 bit...luckily my runtime is installed on an external drive.. so I didn't have to reinstall everything. now I have to also reinstall vue... that will take some time though because that ..was completely on the laptop..runtime and all.. i'll get to it sometime..i'll have to run that under a previous windows version.
oh ya i'll have to remember my render settings.... I thought I had them saved somewhere.. and well I know it's nowhere near perfect but its been awhile and well thats the first try on the new computer.

Bummer. I rarely use the same render settings. New for each render depending on the image. Lol. I wonder why it crashes on 8. Now I know I'll stick with 7. Thanks! Nice job, none-the-less. ")

Man that's sure a lot of misfortune....I would of not probably had the patience to go through all that myself and commend you for your desire to carry on to this point.With that being said...All that trial and error really paid off as this really is some exceptionally well created character art!..Really like the way you have the lighting and mist/fog throughout.Here's hoping all turns out better and in your favor as you proceed along from this point forward. ~Smiles~

Hi hi =) nice render! If you open Poser and go to render settings you can save your settings there, it will make a preset, and this makes it much easier for you to load render settings in the future, try out my settings (in some of my tutorials) or AerySouls settings (just google Aerysoul render settings) - those are good ones too! When the preset is saved to your computer, through Poser, it is saved in the AppData folder, now normally this folder is hidden, meaning you cant see it, I guess microsoft feels it is safer this way!? lol So if your app data folder is hidden you can change that in control panel, folder options, show hidden folders and files. Now, provided you can see the app data folder, you would go to C > users > your user name > app data > roaming > poser pro > 9 (even if you have 2012 the folder says 9) > renderpresets Here you can drag a copy to your external drives for safe keeping, and just toss them back in here should you ever need to reinstall windows =) this way you never lose them... Just some friendly advice, also I suggest not 1 but TWO external drives, that are identical, with everything backed up twice, and the reasoning behind this is because ALL drives will eventually die, and you will lose data if it is not at least double backed up. =)

Looks great, Cheryl. I think I'll stick with Win7 until I have no choice... From what I've seen, Win8 looks like something you'd have put on a toy computer 10 years ago.... Don't like the look of it at all. And it crashes with PP2012?? I'll pass.... :-P
