Description
Chris Schell's US Gato class sub chugging through FirstBastion's Breaking Waves. Composed in DAZ Studio and passed to LuxRender using Reality.
Postwork to add in wake/splashes using brushes by Ron.

Upper edge of the waves in the upper right corner look a little too sharp - but the wakes are great, as is the bw vintage look you're going for.

Oh man, after six years on subs in the North Atlantic, this brings back memories. This is one of those seas where you'ld be taking 20 degree rolls at 200ft. Stay up long enough to charge the batteries, go deep and ride it out! Nice job on the boat and seas.

Many thanks for all your kind words. Rhett - if you look really, REALLY hard you might just see some poor sap (you, perhaps?) up on the sail ;) The waves do look fore-shortened. Mainly because they are! However, the intent was to give the view 'up the wave' at a sub making it's (heavy) way through rough seas, and hence the horizon (and lots more sea) is actually hidden by the rollers. Honest! ;)
