Description
No stand alone shot here.
Captured 10/27/12, very early in the morning, about a mile from my accomplished abode.
ZOOM for full enjoyment.
MrsRatbag's recent posting of her UK cobblestone path photo reminded me of this patch of brickwork in a strip mall parking lot that I had finally snapped recently after walking by it a ton of times in the past.
The low hanging sun did wonders, shadow and texturewise, with the erupting surface. After years of endless vehicle traffic, it resembles raw hamburger meat under peeling skin, at least to me. How's that for an analogy?
Farvel, and have a nice day.

Very cool collage Harry, like all the various patterns

Does have a lot of wear and tear, but makes for some fantastic textures and patterns.

Ditto on the fantastic textures & randomized patterns on this capture. It looks a cross between the surface of Mars and the back of the neck of a co-worker of mine who has a terrible case of Psoriasis. :-)

Looking a worn and well trodden down but making for an interesting and colourful shot/s.. Fine work Harry.. Stamford School House: On the right, the main building is about 100 years younger than the centre piece.. In the middle, joining the two is the newest opart of the Scvhool.. A covered glass walkway.. Modern and oddly NOT in keeping with the old school! No flash used just one shot on my small 'older' camera.. Hope that helps mate :-) Rob

What a wonderful piece of paving, and your low-angle light really popped these beautiful shadows, well done Harry! I love this!

Some funny comments (your son and his co-worker, lol). And a "brilliant" from Andrea. Always great to see. I ran to my iPad when I saw this, and turned it upside down and sideways, and the illusions really shift. The concave bricks become convex and vice versa. Which means you really got the light effects down. I didn't think about it being low-angle light (Denise), but I guess that's part of dawn, isn't it. And yes, the angles really do pop out the shapes. You're one of a very small number of photographers here who can frequently post sheer pattern shots and make them sing: There's always the fear that they'll fall flat---but not in this gallery. And there's your early morning light again, that golden-yellow you've captured so welll so many times. And the montage follows your normal well-planned patterning: Vertical, angled, horizontal, etc. Wonderful play of shape, light and hue. And just from a bunch of bricks!
