Description
This was modeled in Truespace, then imported into Bryce. I'm getting a weird rendering artifact when I import an additional mesh, whether the mesh is .dxf or .3ds format. It appears on the lower legs, and it looks like the black shadow of a cube. But it's not. Any ideas? It's as if I've reached some sort of limit to the number of polygons that I can import without weird stuff happening.
(It doesn't appear on this image because I cheated and photoshopped it out.)

Fantastic modeling. Corrie

Great modeling. Sorry I can't help you with Bryce. Haven't worked with it enough to know anything useful. I'm a modo man myself.

Bryce doesn't seem to like large polys. I have had problems also. It also has a problem with importing mats. This is fine work.

Don't know much about either, but is there a transparency setting that may work?

Yup know that one verrrry well, there is a limit to poly mass imports, the only way i have managed to get around it is to import pieces and then construct in Bryce, its the only way i have used and still do, this is awesome moselling though!

If had the problem in the past when importing complex models into Bryce. I agree with thelordofdragons, you need to imprort the model in smaller segments and reassemble is in Bryce. Good luck! Good looking model.

Try changing it to OBJ format it seems to work best with Bryce particularly with high poly items. I had the same problems with DXF and 3DS.

Yup, OBJ is the way to go. But truespace doesnt have an OBJ export option by default. There is a plug in I use for truespace 7.6. Just search online for truespace obj exporter. 3ds is a low poly format, I avoid it altogether usually. Not sure about dfx but it too could be ideal for for low poly items. Best of luck. Fantastic modeling by the way!

Thanks for the comments everyone! I knew someone would know what was going on!

Sounds to me like it is flipping polys
