Hello, my name is Jean-Luc. I model and texture props, and do computer graphics and photography. And also hand-carved, hand-painted pottery with my wife Denise. :D
BIO
I am a French citizen, happily married to Denise, an American citizen, and we live in Ohio, USA. I come from Menton. Menton is the last town in France at the Italian border - well known for its good climate. We have both mountains and the sea there. :) Take care Jean-Luc aka Ajrarn :D

A great macro. This is a Carpenter Bee, a type of Bumblebee which builds individual rather than group nests by boring 1/4 inch holes as much as 12 inches deep in exposed wood. They seem to have a particular affinity for passion flowers. I find this combination of form and color irresistible and take pictures whenever I see it, but I think I've only included one of these shots in my gallery. Congrats on your inclusion in Last Week in the Gallery!

Thank you, Ocoee53! :) Thank you very much for the info! I have seen some bore holes in wood, but had no idea it was a special kind of bumblebee named Carpenter Bee.
