Description
Sometime back when I posted an image of my character from Skyrim, you mentioned the Drow Rod. They don't look particularly 'dark' here but it depends on the lighting. I mentioned there was something special about Lilana's skin. The male here - Feylin - has the same skin, just a tad darker. The skin is actually a purply-blue color but it seems to absorb the colors of whatever lights you use much more than the usual skins. No SSS shaders or AO, either. I'd be interested to see what it does do in PP2012.
Anyway, the Drow are a sub-race of dark elves from the D&D games. Drow comes from the Orcadian and Shetland isles and is similar to the word 'trow' which means 'troll'. The word 'trow' is also used for barrow-wraiths who are also known as 'draugr' (which is pronounced just like it looks). Draugr are your basic 'walking-dead'.
Irrespective of Gary Gygax's *invention* of the Drow elves for D&D, I find the trail of terms for 'troll' from the Caucasus in southern Russia (the Ukraine) to the northern British Isles quite fascinating.
It's really only been in the 60-70 years that the fey folk have come to be represented as benign beings. Down through the centuries they have been looked upon with dread and fear. I suspect Tinkerbell is largely responsible for that - lol.

I quite like Feylin's skin. The subtle coloring on his elbows and fingertips are what catch my attention, as the same 'blush' would be there for more normal skin tones. Plus he's cute too so...yeah >__>"

Actually, I could use a few good Drow on my night crew - maybe it would keep those night-shi(f)t operators from being such a bunch of whiners.... :-D These two have got to be the most beautiful Drow I've ever laid eyes upon! What lovely work you have here, Ray! I still wouldn't want to get them upset, though, given their tendency to remove heads from bodies at the slightest prvocation! Sheesh - with all the cave photos I have from past trips, I ought to do a Drow or two... Add that to the project list! Thanks for the lift, Ray! Indeed, I don't feel quite so 'draugr-ish' tonight!
