Description

Ol'Gran Latisha is taking care of the kiddos, her daughter, their mother has been killed in a “Drive-by-Shooting”. Dangerous grounds here in this part of newThyttenham. Hi guys, some of you worried for me yesterday and told me to stay safe, thank you for that.but it was in bright (well rainy lol)daylight and i had a good feeling. This keeps coming to my mind Matthew 25:40: And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it unto one of these my brethren, even these least, ye did it unto me. So far in 15 years Spain i have never been attacked or molested by noone, but of course i keep my eyes open when i go out of the house, and i dont go out when its dark, except to walk the dogs, most of the people i encounter are everyday the same, its kind of safe feeling. But comes to think the other day Ute and me went with the dogs at around 23:00 hours and nearby was a group of youngsters sitting on the boardwalk, blocking the passage and talking loud and laughing (sounded drunk to me) in that situation we turned back ,crossed the road and went another direction.i had no good feeling there.

Wonderful and yet sad image you've created, Rene. I'm glad that you take the precautions you do. I'd hate to think of how Ute would react if you got hurt or worse. Take care my friend

I agree, safety is number one. Sometimes it can be a wrong place and a wrong timing, so just be careful. Love the image, Rene, very heartwarming!

Alcohol and youth, as we all know, a heady mix! Maybe we fear more as we get older and weaker eh?

We had a couple of Americans staying here a few years go and they couldn't understand how I could happily walk through the park at night alone and without even a torch. But I'm not sure I would try that in a London park, were I still living there ...

I agree with Mike, this is a sad but beautiful image you created Rene. I think you made the smart move in turning back as you mentioned, it is just sad our modern society has come to that.

then the kids grow up... have their own kids and worry that the kids will get killed by other kids... nasty circle!

Very touching image Rene. Awesome work. We live in such a small hamlet, we are quite sheltered from the threats that big city dwellers deal with. Its a wonderful thing to be able to enjoy going out without worrying about high crime rates. I think it is partly because of our severe weather. Thugs tend to want to move to warmer climates than this.

Beautiful and moving image! We are lucky where we live, so far, crime seems to stay petty. No real threat of physical harm. But less than 15 miles away, you couldn't pay me to go out after dark, got thugs, knocking people down and robbing them in store parking lots. Unbelievable!! Stay safe and kind, the angels are watching you :)

It's just not in Spain ...Here it seems you have to be more aware of your surroundings when going places as you just never know anymore who might be a ticking time bomb and what their actual intentions are anymore.I accidentally bumped into a guy at the grocery store recently and his reaction was like i shoved him on purpose....He's lucky I take things with a grain of salt still or he would have found out the difference between a bump and an shove...just say'n....lol...
