aka virginia tiger moth catipillar he will be a white moth some day. I had only seen the brown and black banded wooly bear catipillar before this one crawled through the garden. thanks for looking and comments, I appreciate it!

What a lovely capture of this little guy! I don't see too many caterpillars around our garden, but at the Hollow! Oh my! I see lots of white ones with black tufts, and the black and brown ones, and yellow ones like this. I had to go buy a little book on caterpillars/butterflies/moths. I found one at a used book store that's sort of a basic one, with the more common ones.
