Description

A picture perfect day in Honolulu caught on the way to Maui. The end of the boat marina is all the way on the left and the view on the right stretches past Diamond Head to Koko Head. In the middle is Waikiki and Kapiolani Park. In the background on the left side is Manoa Valley. The dark spots in the water are the shadows of clouds above. If you want to have some fun, locate this stretch of land on a map of Oahu, and then visually compare the two. It makes for an interesting exercise because the photo gives a far better feel for topography and distances, something the map doesn't convey very well. If you haven't seen it yet, take a look below at Diamond Head (captured on another flyby) just as the airplane passed almost overhead.

Aside from the "Waikiki and Diamond Head" vista, the only other panorama that comparably flabbergasted me was the one I stood before at Horseshoe Bend, as seen below.

Gosh this is pretty. The color of the water is so inviting - just want to put on goggles and a pair of flippers and go snorkling! Marvelous airial view!
