Description
A victim of my own choices
Choices that seemed so right in the moment
Now seem so wrong in the big picture
I wasted my youth
Thinking there was a right and a wrong
And that the truth would set me free
Oh to be so young and foolish again
The truth is
The truth has left me old and bitter
Bitter at myself
Instead of walking gloriously in the light
I stager in the cold of night

I'm with Mike, right in the guts. And I really like the image. This is a great poem but I would respond with the words of the actor John Barrymore; “A Man Is Not Old Until Regrets Take the Place of Dreams”
