Description
The end of my Canyon Road series - a beautiful piece of sculpture created by the artist known as Mother Nature. Although I have one cottonwood tree on my property, it is a scrawny, sorry looking thing. So when I saw this magnificent tree (& my photo doesn't do it justice), I didn't even recognize what it was. So I stopped a man passing by & asked him if he new what kind of tree it was. He told me that it was a very old cottonwood & that when he was a young boy, he & his friends used to climb it during the holidays & hang paper lanterns from it. I'm sure that would have made a great photo...

Lovely image and a lovely tree. I saw some of these trees on my trip to the USA a couple of years ago, they truly are magnificent and the bark is wonderful.

Have you ever driven through Nebraska along I-80? It parallels the North Platte River, which is lined with cottonwood trees. I assure you, to my northern eyes it looked exotic! We have a few here of course, but nothing like that. This is a gorgeous tree, and I can see why you fell in love with it! SO beautiful!
