Thanks for the comments guys. Neil has some really great alternative textures for this model and they make a nice change from the one that comes as standard.

Gotta love a Spitfire render for unwinding! Damn patient war photographer you have there ;-) Even has passed off nicely the slightly aged colour effect. Every time I see footage of Spitfires taking off in fields I'm just gobsmacked... plenty of "green and pleasant" airstrips to choose from too...
