Description

the newest member of my recurve crossbow family. Now I will be able to legally hunt deer in Washington. the cool thing is that this is the first year they allowed crossbow hunters to have scopes. I got a great package deal, the bow, scope and laser sighting system. I also purchased an additional 6 21.25" arrows and 6 3-blade broadheads and a broadhead wrench. I think though that if I'm planning to go after elk, I'm going to need a bigger bow, possibly 175# draw, more than likely a compound styled crossbow. I thank all of you for your kind comments and faves. I greatly appreciate them all I wish you all a great Sunday Mike

Looks pretty menacing. I saw an interview today with a hunter who explained that it wasn't about killing the animal. It was about the planning and strategy and being able to get close to the animal without being noticed. How much more challenging to bring a camera and shoot an animal with that (says the guy who can't even sneak up on a butterfly).

That is one wicked looking crossbow Mike, I had no idea you could get one with that kind of draw strength

Definitely reminds me of my early bow and arrow days and though we had a few hunting tips we never actually did any hunting. We certainly had a great deal of fun with targets that we made up that were imaginative, such as cartons that would swing past bales of hay requiring exquisite timing to hit them. I still have one old fibreglass bow and a quiver full of arrows that I haven't touched in 30 years but still cannot part with.

I have never hunted but I think this is more sportsman like than using a high powered rifle with a scope at least it gives the elk a chance.

Cool Mike! I like crossbows a lot. Over here in NH you can only use crossbows to hunter if you have a handicap and get a special permit. I know, it's dumb. For some reason, they try to make it as difficult as possible to get deer here even though the population is so high there are constant accidents.

Lethal... And 100% illegal in the U.K. Mind you we've managed to wipe out everything worth hunting here and replace it with cities.. You need to very rich to be allowed to hunt.. And even then I'm sure you cannot with these.. But, its a very impressive piece of hardware! Rob.

I admire the workmanship; but not the use for which it is intended.

I can appreciate the craftsmanship of the crossbow and your capture. I do not care for venison so hunting would be out of the question for me
