Description

Vue8Frontier/Wings3D/DazStudio/Photoshop Essentially, this was just supposed to be a test render for importing a Wings3D model into Vue8Frontier via DazStudio...but I couldn't stop there! Since Vue8Frontier will only allow collada imports unless the RenderUp module is purchased,I used DazStudio as a work-around to convert the obj format into a collada file. The Wings model already had the material areas designated,so once in Vue I added preset materials to these areas.A comm station model by JCD,a flock of swallows and a walnut tree in winter(all from Cornucopia3D) were added to the scene.A procedural terrain was textured in a modified Terrainscape material.Sky,light and atmo are all custom. A sphere textured in a modified rock preset creates the distant moon. The scene was rendered in Superior mode,at the largest resolution and size that Vue8Frontier allows, which isn't very big! Postwork in Photoshop consisted of a slight levels adjustment, signature and resizing. Thanks for viewing and any comments!

Awesome scene, but that sounds like WAY TOO MUCH WORK... You might want to check out this link: http://meshlab.sourceforge.net/ This is a free download that converts OBJ to Collada (DEA) it might save you some time and effort. You could also build your models in Hexagon which auto-bridges to DazStudio and just save the files in Collada that way... Happy file converting or should that say rendering... LOL
