Description
i think this illustrates the bleakness of the day we visited. Low season in a coastal resort/workplace that doesn't pay lip service to the tourist has an increased sense of melancholy about it at this time of year. I have more pictures to come that hopefully show this.

So well seen and captured, Alan. The impression of this scene is significant, one can feel the mood, what you have caught. Also it is very interesting to see these 12 gulls and ten poles, (many in number, yet desolate)

A great leading line composition with (almost) perfect balance of the gulls and posts. The failure of the one gull to follow the rules makes the composition just a bit more interesting. Grainy black and white adds to the bleakness.
