My name is Vernon Roy Carlson. I was born in Alabama, raised in Utah, spent 11 years in California, moved back to Salt Lake City in 2012. I've been drawing since the age of 3. I began creating computer art in 1980, (those were not the days), by writing math/machine code to poke and peek X,Y values. Started Bryce in 1998, and Poser shortly there after. I paint with oils, acrylics, and I've been airbrushing since 1983. I now enjoy making kinetic light-up robotic sculptures. I also synthesize audio effects and music. I am currently writing a graphic novel for animated series,(11+yrs so far).Â
(It can take up to one month of rendering to create only 30 seconds of animation! Painful.)Â

I love this image, such a great idea. The atmosphere creates a damp feel which makes the overgrowth even more realistic.

The buildings are models that artist Stonemason created that I purchased from DAZ3D (his work is amazing!) I spent 20 hours building and revamping the textures on the buildings and the foilage that covers them including all the lights. I've been rendering with Bryce now since 1998 and have been blown away with what it can do. I've been an artist my entire life(mammothgrail.com) and will always keep BRYCE5 on my hard dive. Thanks to everyone in this remarkable community and all of your artwork, support and your sharing. This place is cool.
