That is NOT me in the picture!
Thanks for visiting my gallery! If you were redirected here from Culture Crunch, you will find the "alternate versions" of Didi and Kelly here, as well as a few prototypes, if you look hard enough.
Once upon a time, I thought to myself, "Wouldn't it be cool to make pictures of people on the computer?" Of course, at the time, I was thinking more along the lines of Max Headroom, but when Poser came out, I knew I had to have it. Yes, folks, I am one of the lucky few who has been using Poser since version 1!
Most people would agree that Poser 4 was the turning point, where it went from being a reference tool to a way to make real pictures (I won't say "real art") in its own right. Then came along someone named Victoria... And the rest is history!
Recently I've been getting into DAZ Studio quite a bit. I'm also trying to wrap my mind around LuxRender.

First and foremost, this is an excellent picture. the lighting is wonderful and the posing/setting is great Regarding your computer vs your ceiling fan. while getting the ceiling fan fixed/replaced is perhaps a great idea. It is kind of embarassing to have the fan crash down in the middle of dinner or such and decapitating your mother or some other relative or friend. that being said, replacing the computer to a more powerful machine with extra memory/ video power and very large & fast hard drives does several things: it allows you to contiune your excellent artwork for all to share, with the additional bonus of getting the render done quickly, more so than with the old one (anything is faster than a dead computer, right?) and if you are like a lot of other people who render and do other things on the computer, having your old one dying in the midst of a project could lead to things like going insane, ripping the ceiling fan out of the ceiling and using it on your mother/relative/friend. and perhaps preventing the subsequent visit to the local police department and other such nasty things, like the 27 8by10 colour glossies with the circles and arrows and the paragraph on the back of each one stating what each one was... I rest my case good luck on the new computer

Fabulous render! Great DOF.

intstead of lux render check out octane render-they have a plug in for poser9 and pro2012 you will still need a nice nvidia gpu i think it does a better job than lux personally

lmao faemike and his reference to arlo guthries' 'alices resteraunt', anyway getting the new computer may not be a bad idea if it woudl help ease 'your' mind! this image render is a very adequate if not above purely awesome render, like dof for the character in back along with the bedroom! so there, feel any better!:)*5

'Clank' from a hard drive is not a good thing. I'd recommend at the least that you mirror it with a new hard drive or get a back up done at once. The nice thing about mirroring is that you can subsequently remove the old hard drive and carry on with the new hard drive. In any case, I think you did a hell of a good job bringing out the realism here. That includes your posing which looks so natural that you could swear the characters are moving. Well done.

Guess I never did such an awesome Poser render. How long did it take (to render)?

Knechtruprecht: I'm not sure how long it took. I let it go overnight. Let's just say "hours."
