Description

Heute am Totensonntag - der STILLE Feiertag in Deutschland - führt mich mein Weg auf den Friedhof, um meinen Liebsten Menschen, meinen Eltern und Freunden, zu gedenken. Natürlich sind meine Gedanken nicht nur an diesem Tag bei ihnen. Aber heute nehme ich zu den Blumen auch einen Winterschmuck mit, um sie vor der Kälte zu schützen - symbolisch. Sie haben mir zu Lebzeiten Wärme geschenkt und dafür bin ich dankbar. ================================================ Today, on Remembrance Sunday - the SILENCE Day in Germany - my path leads to the cemetery to commemorate my beloved parents and friends. Of course, my thoughts are not only on this day with them. But today I take the flowers with a winter jewelry, to protect them from the cold - symbolically. They have given me to life times warmth und for that I am grateful.

That is a really striking photo. I especially like the little bits of warmth that have been allowed to creep onto the statue either from light or from oxidation of the stone. Just like the warmth of the love of your parents that you speak of in your prose.

The very definition of grief. A marvelous image. You are a good daughter and friend to visit your departed loved ones. As long as we remember a part of them still lives.
